Why universities demand GAMSAT score?

GAMSAT is graduate Australian medical school admission test and things are very much clear from its name. It is an admission test for getting admission in the medical schools and it was designed by Australian medical schools so it’s named after them. This test was later adopted by many medical schools of UK and now it’s a requirement for admission in many medical universities and colleges of UK, Ireland and Australia. The test has been designed wonderfully in a way that bright students can score well in it and all the good institutes prefer giving admissions to bright students only.
What’s in the test?
GAMSAT is not much a big medical test. It doesn’t have complicated questions in it because most of the test is based on reasoning. A person who has sound grip on physics, chemistry, biology and English can score well in this test. The test is basically designed for admissions in the institutions offering courses in the disciplines of medicine, dentistry and veterinary science and all these walks of medical require only the bright students.
There are three sections of the test. Those who wish to score more should stress more on the third section because it has double waiting on the total score. The third section of the test is of 170 minutes length and it has 110 questions in all. These questions are related mostly to physical science. Section 2 of the test deals with the essay writing which expose the English writing skills of the students. Students have a time of one hour to deal with this section. Section 1 of the test deals with the questions related to humanities and social sciences. There are 75 questions in this section usually and students have a time period of 100 minutes to answer these questions.
It is a long test but for one day only. It starts at eight in the morning and the ending time of the test is four in the evening. Each section of the test has a separate time period so when it ends there is a 20 minutes break but the students can not leave the examination hall during these breaks. There is also a lunch break in the test which is of one hour duration. GAMSAT test is held only once a year but the time is different for this test in UK and Australia. The registration of the test is also done at different times in these countries. Usually month of January is for registration of students appearing in this test from Australia and month of august is for registration of UK students.
GAMSAT has earned good reputation as a test in recent years for which it has become a standard for admission in the medical colleges and universities in UK, Ireland and Australia. Universities demand high score in this test because they know only the bright students can get that. Along with that they usually demand a good CGPA in graduation and a recognized degree of graduation.
