The seeds of the plant of borage are used for the extraction of borage oil. In ancient times borage’s oil was not that common but today its oil is considered as a natural medicine. Borage oil is also known as starflower oil. The most active component of gamma linolenic acid makes this oil important as this ingredient is found in few plants only. This is a polyunsaturated fatty acid which is found in hemp, blackcurrant, and primrose and in borage. But borage is famous for it as it contains 24% GLA and the GLA in the oil itself are 20% to 27%. This feature of borage oil makes this plant special and it is famous because of this oil rather then it’s other uses. Usage of this oil can put a healthy body on the roads rather then a body having problems.
