The politicians and retailers are in the state of denial

One of the things that are common in the consumer markets of UK is that most people purchase products from debts. In recent years many people have spent money extravagantly without considering that they have to repay the debt money. That has made the situation worse for many consumers in the UK.
One of the reasons of high debts at the ends of consumers is that the banks and financial institutions offer debts to people on easy terms. When people earn then they have to earn for repaying debts. When people have increments in earning then they have to pay more amounts in debts and things keep going that way. There is no way that a person can skip from the owed debts.
In recent times many consumers realized that they should not spend on purchasing items that are not needed. They have a changed approach towards purchasing products and that has reduced the sales at the end of retailers many folds. There are consumers that are having views that they do not need dozens of coats, pants, shoes, handbags and other stuff. People are no more purchasing multiples of items from businesses like JJB sports, TJ Hughes, Alexon, Walmsley, Jane Norman and plenty of others.
The consumers in the UK are more focusing on using their existing stuff rather than purchasing new items. When the old items stop working then they try for getting them repaired rather than purchasing the new models. That is making the manufacturers of home appliances suffer because of less sales. There are many retailers that are closing their stores and many new businesses are facing difficulties in surviving in the markets.
The situation is very much alarming for retailers in many businesses in UK. They are striving and the rule is survival of the fittest. The good businesses are changing their strategies to meet challenges of the dynamic behavior of consumers. Even great businesses like Wallis and Oasis are abandoning their expensive outlets to deal with the issue in the positive manner.
There are many UK based retailers that are focusing more on the expansion of their businesses in the other countries to get adequate sales. A great business like Debenhams is increasing its retail outlets in many countries around the world. Similarly Argos is now in a joint venture with Haier which is a Chinese business and both of them are looking forward to open a new store in Shanghai, China. There are hundreds of other brands that are having their outlets in many other countries of Europe and America just because they cannot rely on a single UK consumer markets anymore.
UK should change into a producing economy rather than being consumer economy. That can change the scenario for the country and politicians should focus on that. A very good approach is given by Tony Groom from K2 Business Rescue in this aspect. According to him UK needs to focus on exports and it needs innovation. He told that to a renowned writer Ali Withers.
