Are possums dangerous?

Possums are small animals having long tail. They are found in many countries with slight variation in sizes and styles. However the common thing in all kinds of possums is that they all have long tails, small size and they are not dangerous as wild animals are for humans but dangerous for plants, fruits, vegetables and many other things that are grown for human eating. Now the question is that where do possums live? The simple and straight answer is that they live in the nests they make over the roofs.

Where do possums live or reside is something needs to be addressed. Possums are usually residing at sub urban areas while some species do reside in the urban areas. Usually the wild ones are more away from the sub urban areas and human friendly ones are residing near the urban areas mostly. The more wild a possum is the furrier is its body especially the tail. That can be best used for pest. In many areas where there are trees, fruits, vegetable fields and other useful items grown, pests are dangerous as they eat all such things and destroy the human dependencies.

Where there is less number of possums at a place or country then it is important that must be given extra amount of care and attention. It is extremely important to know where Possums live at such places. Possums are considered to be territorial animals and it is quite a possibility that if they are taken far away from their territory they will not survive. For that reason there is ban of transporting possums from one place to another at many places of the world. This is an extremely dangerous animal for wildlife as lots of trees and eatable items vanish in a particular area of its residence within matter of days.

Possums are considered very useful and are used as pests at many places. The fur of the wild possums is very much furry and it is quite frequently used in the making of leather gloves, jackets and many other items used in the winters for keeping the body warmer. It is not necessary to kill the possums just for getting benefit out of them. Even if we don’t know where do possums live it doesn’t matter much. There are lots of possums that die on the roads under the wheels of automobiles where ever they are residing in majority.
